Is this glove right for me, and why the price tag?
I'll be frank, The Foundation isn't for everyone. It's built for home gardeners and trade professionals who are fed up with gloves that break too soon, especially at the fingertips.
That's also why the price is what it is. This wasn't built to be the cheapest, it was built to be the one you reach for over and over again. The price reflects the materials, the small production run, and the work that's gone into it.

How do I find my size?
Grab a tape measure (a string and ruler works too) and measure around your knuckles and the length of your dominant hand. Then check those numbers against the Glove Sizing Guide for your best fit.
If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing down, the leather stretches and moulds to your hand with use, so a snug fit now becomes a perfect one later. Prefer more room from the start? Feel free to size up instead.

What do you mean by "tested in the real world"?
Before V2, The Foundation went through months of testing with real gardeners, in real conditions. They told us exactly what they love and what could be better. Everything they loved is still here. We just made V2 better with what it needed.
Where is The Foundation made?
The Foundation is designed and founded in Canberra, Australia, and handmade by skilled leatherworkers in Pakistan, in a region with generations of expertise in leather craftsmanship. We work directly with our manufacturing partner there to make sure every pair meets the standard we set out to build.
How do I care for my gloves?
The Foundation is made from premium, full-grain goat leather, and a little care goes a long way in keeping it in top condition.
After each use, hang the gloves up and let them air dry naturally, away from direct heat and sunlight. Brush off excess dirt and wipe gently with a damp cloth when needed. If they get properly mucky, wash with saddle soap and rub in a leather balm. That's it.
One thing to avoid: don't machine wash or tumble dry.
How long does delivery take?
Orders ship within 1-2 business days, packed and posted by us here in Canberra. Once it's out the door, delivery timing depends on where you are, most Australian addresses see it within a few business days after that.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, so you'll see the exact cost before you pay. No surprises.
Do you ship outside Australia?
Right now, The Foundation ships within Australia as standard. But if you're outside Australia and want a pair, don't let that stop you, email carolyn@baredirtco.com and we'll do what we can to get a pair to you.
We're a small, self-fulfilled operation, so international shipping isn't fully automated on the site yet. That doesn't mean it's not possible, it just means we'll sort it out together.
What's your exchange and returns policy?
If your gloves arrive faulty, damaged, or the fit isn't quite right, get in touch within 30 days of purchase and we'll sort out a full refund, excluding shipping costs.
We just ask that you return the glove unworn and unmarked, and reach out to us first before sending anything back, so we can help you through the next steps. Email carolyn@baredirtco.com and we'll take it from there.
